Lord Shiva resides at his abode of Mount Kailash, with Devi Durga. They have two sons, Kartikeya and Ganesh. The Shiva family includes his devotee Bhringi and the bull Nandi, which is also Shiva's vehicle.

According to the Vedic texts, a complete puja of Lord Shiva is performed only when the whole Shiva family is included in the puja. Hence, this puja album includes the ganesh-ambika puja and the shiv parivaar puja. The album also includes the shodash upchaar puja and the shiv ashtottar shat naamavali (108 names of Lord Shiva). Pratha smarami Lalitha vadanaravindam,
Bimbadaram pradhula maukthika shobhi nasam,
Aakarna deerga nayanam mani kundaladyam,
Mandasmitham mruga madojjwala phala desam. 1

Meaning: I meditate early in the morning upon that enchanting lotus like visage of Shree Lalitha whose lips are deep red like the Bimba flower, the nose bedight with a pearl pendant; whose eyes are big as to be spreading up to the ears wearing the jewelled rings and whose forehead has a comely musk mark. Her smiling face appears very captivating.

Prathar Bhajami Lalitha Bhuja kalpa vallim,
Rathnanguleeya lasathanguli pallavadyam,
Manikhya hema valayangadha Shobha maanam,
Pundreshu Chapa kusumeshu sruneen dadhanam. 2

Meaning: I concentrate early in the morning on the svelt-creeper like comely arms of Shree Lalita Devi whose hands are bedight with the red ring worn on her fingers and with the jewel embedded gold bangles (on the wrist). Her hands hold the bow made of the sugarcane of red variety, the arrow made of flowers and a cumulus.

Bhakteshta dana niratham bhava sindhu potham,
Padmasanadhi sura nayaka poojaneeyam,

Meaning: I bow early in the morning to the lotus-like soft feet of Shree Lalita Devi which readily grant the devotees desires and are like the veritable firm ship to take one across the sea of mortal existence; which are ever adored by the lotus-seated Brahma and other leaders of the godhead and sitting in the lotus posture, who holds a lotus, a goad, a flag and the sudarshana (wheel) in her hands.

॥आदिलक्ष्मि॥
सुमनस वन्दित सुन्दरि माधवि, चन्द्र सहोदरि हेममये
मुनिगणमण्डित मोक्षप्रदायनि, मञ्जुळभाषिणि वेदनुते।
पङ्कजवासिनि देवसुपूजित, सद्गुण वर्षिणि शान्तियुते
जय जय हे मधुसूदन कामिनि, आदिलक्ष्मि सदा पालय माम् ॥१॥

॥धान्यलक्ष्मि॥
अहिकलि कल्मषनाशिनि कामिनि, वैदिकरूपिणि वेदमये
क्षीरसमुद्भव मङ्गलरूपिणि, मन्त्रनिवासिनि मन्त्रनुते।
मङ्गलदायिनि अम्बुजवासिनि, देवगणाश्रित पादयुते
जय जय हे मधुसूदन कामिनि, धान्यलक्ष्मि सदा पालय माम् ॥२॥

जयवरवर्णिनि वैष्णवि भार्गवि, मन्त्रस्वरूपिणि मन्त्रमये
सुरगणपूजित शीघ्रफलप्रद, ज्ञानविकासिनि शास्त्रनुते।
भवभयहारिणि पापविमोचनि, साधुजनाश्रित पादयुते
जय जय हे मधुसूधन कामिनि, धैर्यलक्ष्मी सदा पालय माम् ॥३॥

जय जय दुर्गतिनाशिनि कामिनि, सर्वफलप्रद शास्त्रमये
रधगज तुरगपदाति समावृत, परिजनमण्डित लोकनुते।
हरिहर ब्रह्म सुपूजित सेवित, तापनिवारिणि पादयुते
जय जय हे मधुसूदन कामिनि, गजलक्ष्मी रूपेण पालय माम् ॥४॥

॥सन्तानलक्ष्मि॥
अहिखग वाहिनि मोहिनि चक्रिणि, रागविवर्धिनि ज्ञानमये
गुणगणवारिधि लोकहितैषिणि, स्वरसप्त भूषित गाननुते।
सकल सुरासुर देवमुनीश्वर, मानववन्दित पादयुते
जय जय हे मधुसूदन कामिनि, सन्तानलक्ष्मी त्वं पालय माम् ॥५॥

॥विजयलक्ष्मि॥
जय कमलासनि सद्गतिदायिनि, ज्ञानविकासिनि गानमये
अनुदिनमर्चित कुङ्कुमधूसर, भूषित वासित वाद्यनुते।
कनकधरास्तुति वैभव वन्दित, शङ्कर देशिक मान्य पदे
जय जय हे मधुसूदन कामिनि, विजयलक्ष्मी सदा पालय माम् ॥६॥

॥विद्यालक्ष्मि॥
प्रणत सुरेश्वरि भारति भार्गवि, शोकविनाशिनि रत्नमये
मणिमयभूषित कर्णविभूषण, शान्तिसमावृत हास्यमुखे।
नवनिधिदायिनि कलिमलहारिणि, कामित फलप्रद हस्तयुते
जय जय हे मधुसूदन कामिनि, विद्यालक्ष्मी सदा पालय माम् ॥७॥

॥धनलक्ष्मि॥
धिमिधिमि धिंधिमि धिंधिमि-धिंधिमि, दुन्दुभि नाद सुपूर्णमये
घुमघुम घुङ्घुम घुङ्घुम घुङ्घुम, शङ्खनिनाद सुवाद्यनुते।
वेदपूराणेतिहास सुपूजित, वैदिकमार्ग प्रदर्शयुते
जय जय हे मधुसूदन कामिनि, धनलक्ष्मि रूपेणा पालय माम् ॥८॥

⁣Jātavedase sunavāma soma marātīyato nidahāti vedaḥ .
Sa naḥ parṣadati durgāṇi viśvā nāveva sindhuṃ duritātyagniḥ ॥1॥

जा॒तवे॑दसे सुनवाम॒ सोम॑ मरातीय॒तो निद॑हाति॒ वेदः॑ ।
स नः॑ पर्-ष॒दति॑ दु॒र्गाणि॒ विश्वा॑ ना॒वेव॒ सिन्धुं॑ दुरितात्यग्निः ॥

We offer oblations of Soma unto Agni. May he burn those who are against us. May that Agni lead us beyond all difficulties, like a boatman takes his boat across a river.

Tāmagnivarṇāṃ tapasā jvalantīṃ vairocanīṃ karmaphaleṣu juṣṭām .
Durgāṃ devīm̐̐ śaraṇamahaṃ prapadye sutarasi tarase namaḥ ॥2॥

ताम॒ग्निव॑र्णां तप॑सा ज्वल॒न्तीं वै॑रोच॒नीं क॑र्मफ॒लेषु॒ जुष्टा॓म् ।
दु॒र्गां दे॒वीग्ं शर॑णम॒हं प्रप॑द्ये सु॒तर॑सि तरसे॑ नमः॑ ॥

I take refuge in that Goddess, who has the lustre of fire, who is radiant due to her penance, who gives the fruits of all actions, and who is difficult to obtain. O Durga, we bow to you who are skilled in making us cross all difficulties.

Agne tvaṃ pārayā navyo asmān svastibhirati durgāṇi viśvā .
Pūśca pṛthvī bahulā na urvī bhavā tokāya tanayāya śaṃyoḥ ॥3॥

अग्ने॒ त्वं पा॑रया॒ नव्यो॑ अ॒स्मान्थ्-स्व॒स्तिभि॒रति॑ दु॒र्गाणि॒ विश्वा॓ ।
पूश्च॑ पृ॒थ्वी ब॑हु॒ला न॑ उ॒र्वी भवा॑ तो॒काय॒ तन॑याय॒ शंयोः ॥

O Agni! You are worthy of praise. Lead us safely across all obstacles. May our land and earth be abundant. Bless our children and grandchildren with happiness.

Viśvāni no durgahā jātavedaḥ sindhunna nāvā duritātiparṣi .
Agne atrivanmanasā gṛṇāno'smākaṃ bodhyavitā tanūnām ॥4॥

विश्वा॑नि नो दु॒र्गहा॑ जातवेदः॒ सिन्धु॒न्न ना॒वा दु॑रि॒ता‌तिपर्षि ।
अग्ने॑ अत्रि॒वन्मन॑सा गृणा॒नो॓‌உस्माकं॑ बोध्यवि॒ता त॒नूना॓म् ॥

O Destroyer of all difficulties! Rescue us from difficulties, just as one crosses a river by means of a boat. O Agni! Protect our bodies vigilantly like Atri (who is concerned with the welfare of all beings).

Pṛtanā jitam̐̐ sahamānamugramagnim̐̐ huvema paramāthsadhasthāt .
Sa naḥ parṣadati durgāṇi viśvā kṣāmaddevo atiduritātyagniḥ ॥5॥

पृ॒त॒ना॒ जित॒ग्ं॒ सह॑मानमु॒ग्रम॒ग्निग्ं हु॑वेम पर॒माथ्-स॒धस्था॓त् ।
स नः॑ पर्-ष॒दति॑ दु॒र्गाणि॒ विश्वा॒ क्षाम॑द्दे॒वो अति॑ दुरि॒ता‌உत्य॒ग्निः ॥

We invoke Agni from the highest assembly , who charges and vanquishes his enemies and is fearsome. May that Agni protect us and lead us beyond all that is transient, all difficulties, and all sins.

Pratnoṣi kamīḍyo adhvareṣu sanācca hotā navyaśca sathsi .
Svāñcāgne tanuvaṃ piprayasvāsmabhyaṃ ca saubhagamāyajasva ॥6॥

प्र॒त्नोषि॑ क॒मीड्यो॑ अध्व॒रेषु॑ स॒नाच्च॒ होता॒ नव्य॑श्च सत्सि॑ ।
स्वाञ्चा॓‌உग्ने त॒नुवं॑ पि॒प्रय॑स्वा॒स्मभ्यं॑ च॒ सौभ॑ग॒माय॑जस्व ॥

O Agni! Praised in sacrifices, you multiply our joy. You are present in the sacrifices and are always laudable. Grant us happiness thinking of us as your own body. Bring us good fortune from all corners.

Gobhirjuṣṭamayujo niṣiktaṃ tavendra viṣṇoranusañcarema .
Nākasya pṛṣṭhamabhi saṃvasāno vaiṣṇavīṃ loka iha mādayantām ॥7॥

गोभि॒र्जुष्ट॑मयुजो॒ निषि॑क्तं॒ तवें॓द्र विष्णो॒रनु॒सञ्च॑रेम ।
नाक॑स्य पृ॒ष्ठम॒भि स॒ंवसा॑नो॒ वैष्ण॑वीं लो॒क इ॒ह मा॑दयन्ताम् ॥

O Indra, all-pervading! We shall follow you blessed with cattle and unbroken happiness. May those who live on the heights of heaven bring here the world of Vishnu.
